About Alira

Since the age of three, Alira has known that her destiny lay in the performing arts. What began as a daily ritual of watching Bollywood and other music channels and mimicking dance steps, has evolved into a full-fledged career. Her journey into choreography began in 2017 when she was invited to create dance routines for stage shows at the University of Waterloo. Driven by her love for Dance, Alira has trained with renowned institutions such as Shiamak Davar, LVDS, and Swingers Dance Studio. She also holds a Bachelor's degree in Indian Folk Dance from the Kalyanjay Institute and has received training in Belly Dance as well.

Committed to continual learning and diversity in dance, Alira founded her own company, Alira Choreography and Dance (ACD), offering tailored choreography for various needs. Specialising in wedding choreography, she has choreographed events across the globe—Toronto, Vancouver, Jamaica, Bangalore, Calgary—and has worked with a prestigious wedding choreography company in Mumbai. Alira is dedicated to realising her clients’ vision, providing personalised experiences, and highlighting their unique strengths. Her philosophy is simple: "Anyone can dance if they want to." With a never-give-up attitude, she believes in the transformative power of dance for everyone.
